SMARTLIPO™ (Laser Liposuction):

SmartLipo uses an FDA-approved microscopic laser to melt fat, simultaneously coagulate blood vessels, and tighten loose skin and cellulite. This major technological advancement allows minimal downtime with most patients returning to work the next day. There is local numbing which provides a comfortable treatment with patients walking in and out. Incisions are hidden and are so tiny that no stitches are needed, therefore no unsightly scars occur. SmartLipo offers smoother results than what occurs with traditional Liposuction with less swelling and bruising and virtually no blood loss.

Minimal Downtime

A few of our patients even return to work immediately, almost like a “lunchtime Liposuction”. Of course we normally advise a day or two of rest.

Minimal Discomfort

During the procedure, there is no pain. After the anesthesia has worn off, it only feels like the aches and pains that follow a vigorous workout. This is unlike in traditional Liposuction where a patient feels as if “run over by a truck.” The swelling and bruises too are much less with Smart Lipo.

Less Traumatic

The fiber-optic cannula is inserted through a small puncture in the skin usually along creases that conceal the scar. As the laser melts the fats, it also coagulates the loose ends of small blood vessels. Compression garments are optional as the area will not bleed very much after the laser is removed. Eventually, it would be very hard to find the insertion points or tell by looking at the skin that any Liposuction has ever been done.

Safety

SmartLipo is safer than traditional Liposuction because with the tumescent technique there are no IVs, no anesthetic drugs (besides local numbing) and virtually no blood loss, eliminating many of the risks associated with general anesthesia. The patient is awake either talking with the doctor, watching a DVD or listening to an IPOD.
